The analog renaissance rolls on. French audio brand We Are Rewind, known for reviving the classic cassette player with a tech-savvy twist, has just unveiled a new special edition of its beloved WE-001: meet Edith, a candy-colored tribute to retro listening culture.

Finished in a distinctive pink and seafoam green aluminum, Edith continues the brand’s tradition of naming editions after iconic music figures (preceded by Amy, Kurt, Keith, and Serge). Like its predecessors, the WE-001 merges nostalgic charm with modern upgrades, Bluetooth 5.1, a rechargeable lithium-ion battery, and USB-C charging bring cassette culture firmly into the 21st century.
With 10–12 hours of playback on a single charge, it’s a step up from the battery-hungry Walkmans of decades past. And yes, it still records. Plug in a mic or stereo input, press the yellow record button, and make your own mixtape. It’s a feature that feels both delightfully anachronistic and strangely relevant in an age of impersonal playlists.

For those who want the full retro look, the launch is joined by the EQ-001 wireless headphones, a modern Bluetooth headset styled like the slim foam-cushioned models of the ’80s and ’90s. There’s also a new WE-60 blank tape and a belt clip, for anyone ready to commit to the full old-school aesthetic.
While the cassette format may never regain its former dominance, there’s something enduring about the tactile act of pressing play, flipping sides, and rewinding by hand. With Edith, We Are Rewind proves that even the most outdated media can still hold emotional weight, and sound pretty great doing it.
